I was born in the outskirts of Manchester, in 1953, and lived there until I was 10 years old. The best part of my childhood was then spent in Lowestoft, Suffolk. After leaving school I had a wide variety of jobs, usually to finance my numerous trips to Europe.
I married and settled in Lowestoft and was busy bringing up my two children, when one sleepless night, I was sat in front of a vase of flowers with a piece of paper and pencil on the table. I became completely absorbed in my drawing and have been hooked ever since. Slowly I began to dabble with colour and the excitement of the whole process grew and grew.
I moved to Sleaford in 1995 where I began to experiment with different mediums. Pastels have become my favourite, but I still like to keep my hand in with watercolours and oils. Having sold several paintings through local exhibitions, my confidence grew and I organised a Solo Exhibition at the Swineshead Gallery in 2001 which was very successful.
Because of some health problems I wasn't able to paint as often or for as long as I wanted to. My health problems are now behind me and in August 2004 I moved down to Devon and bought a house in Westward Ho! which is 400m from the sea. With the new countryside and the Atlantic coastline my inspiration has been renewed and refreshed.
I am now looking for venues to exhibit and sell my work, so if you know of any galleries that would host an exhibition of my work or of any outlets where I could sell my paintings; I would love to hear from you.
